Seismic clamp This panel has been designed to control hydraulic valves and rams to clamp the nuclear reactor refuelling machine to a solid structure in the event of seismic activity. It involved replacing all the obsolete relay's and timers with a Siemens PLC and solid state relays to improve reliability and control. |
Laser Telemetry This panel has been designed to provide laser positioning and telemetry to a overhead gantry crane. Installed in conjunction with a colour CCTV camera system, this allows accurate and repeatable positioning of the crane. This has been installed at a nuclear power station, for positioning of waste materials within a storage pond. |
DC Travel drive system This panel has been designed to control the travel of a large (1300Tonne un-laden) gantry crane. There are 12 motors to provide motion, and these are controlled by custom panels with Siemens DC drive units. The drives are networked via a RS485 and profibus networks. Overall control is interfaced to a Raypac control system via a Siemens S7-300 series PLC. Feedback is given to the users via a 15" colour touch screen. |
Vulcanizing plate heater This heater has been designed to aid in the repair of rubber fire hoses. Used in conjunction with a hose repair kit and an approved 110Vac power supply, this allowed the users to provide safe, on-site repairs of hoses. |
